Pemphigus Vulgaris



It is a painful skin condition that causes blisters on the skin and mucus membranes. Pemphigus Vulgaris is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks your healthy tissues. Pemphigus can occur in any part of the body but is most commonly found in the mouth, throat, nose, eyes, lungs, and genitals.

Painful blisters may cause severe health issues. Pain may continue throughout the day. Some instances of pemphigus Vulgaris may be dangerous. Treatment is essential.

Causes

It is an autoimmune disease and the exact trigger is unknown. The immune system produces antibodies and these antibodies mistakenly destroy healthy tissues. In the case of pemphigus Vulgaris, the destruction is more over the skin and mucus membrane.
