Urinary incontinence


Urinary incontinence is the involuntary leakage of urine. The person may urinate unknowingly. This is a common problem that affects both sexes and every age group. But it is more common among women than men. Patients with urinary incontinence cannot prevent urine from leaking out. The chances of urinary incontinence increase with age. The pelvic floor muscles become weak in old age and this weakness causes urinary incontinence. Similarly, failure in nervous regulation also contributes to urinary incontinence.
